Mission Statement
The Long Island Builders Institute, formed in 1941, is an association of building industry professionals who are dedicated to making Long Island a better place to live and work, by creating a balance between the economy, the environment and the achievement of the American Dream of Home Ownership in all our communities.

Business Opportunity
LIBI members build most of the 5,000 or more homes produced on Long Island each year. They buy land and products and services equivalent to about one billion dollars annually.

LIBI serves as a business referral source for builders and remodelers, and those associate members selling directly to the public. LIBI responds to consumer inquiries, through data base referrals given by telephone and on the internet. LIBI also serves the public with referral information by appearing at major home shows and occasionally sponsoring its own.

Networking is LIBI's most important business opportunity. Members learn from each other, exchange information, sell, buy and make deals.

Networking takes place at monthly general membership meetings, our East End Chapter meetings and at our many committee meetings and seminars.

The annual LIBI Associates Trade Show offers a unique opportunity for Associates to market their products and services to all builders and contractors on Long Island.
Trade Show

The annual LIBI Awards Program provides builders and Associates marketing advantage from participation in the LIBI Awards program, which enables winners to be featured in trade and general media, on this web site and entitles winners to use the LIBI Award LOGO in their display advertising and point of sale locations.

Social Opportunity
LIBI provides fun for members, their employees and families. Our social calendar allows all to the opportunity to enjoy each other's company. LIBI social occasions include our annual Dinner Dance, held each spring, featuring a gourmet dinner, dancing and live music.

Our Holiday Party is also an elegant affair, usually held convenient well chosen locations, with members and their families celebrating in style while donating gifts and food to needy children and families. Each summer our LIBI Builders PAC-Golf Outings are well attended. An East End Council Lobster fest is held in the Hamptons each July and a picnic in August. Included in LIBI's roster of events is our Gala LIBI Awards Banquet in November, where we honor our LIBI Award finalists.
