How can I find a builder or remodeler in my area?
To find a builder or remodeler in your area,
you must contact your local home builders association.
Can you tell me about a builder’s reputation?
LIBI does not keep files on members' building
practices and reputations. We encourage consumers
to ask prospective builders for references and
to check those references.
Is there an approved LIBI Builder list?
LIBI does not approve builders or recommend specific builders.
Some associations may provide lists of their members
or make recommendations.
Where
can I go to find statistical information on the web,
such as housing starts and completions, new home sales
prices, demographic information, etc.?
You
can find housing and construction statistics on NAHB’s
web page, http://www.nahb.org/.
Under the “Resources” section, click on “Economic and
Housing Data.” Another
excellent source for statistical information is the
US Census Bureau web site, located at http://www.census.gov/. Here you will find information
in all topical areas, including housing. You can search
the site by entering keywords into the Search box, or
you can search the alphabetical index along the left-hand
side of the screen. A good place to start is under “H”
for housing or “C” for construction.
